Maybe All You Need Is a Miracle Cruise!

It truly makes my day to receive feedback like this from clients who've recently returned from cruises.
They haven't necessarily returned from a distant destination.
A first-time cruise from close to home includes wonderful entertainment venues and talented performers, not unlike more expensive trips.
These cruises also include delicious, elegantly-served meals and casual buffet dining, depending on what you want.
They have pools, parties and ports.
While the port names may not be as inspiring as Curacao, Copenhagen or Cabo San Lucas, you can find excellent excursions and then return to the ship to appreciate the portside view from a comfy lounge chair.
Maria had been on a 4-night Carnival cruise with her family, and she returned ready for a longer cruise to new destinations.
The natural follow-up would be 7-night Caribbean or Mexican Riviera, with flight considerations probably dictating which should come next.
On the West Coast, we also have 5-night cruises that stretch the paradigm by taking us all the way to Cabo, and that makes a wonderful follow-up cruise. Julie and I had an amazing time on our 5-night "whale watching" cruise with Princess last February.
If you live closer to San Diego than Long Beach, or you have a strong relationship with Carnival, you might want to consider Carnival Miracle, which does some shorter cruises in mid-winter.
Miracle is considerably newer and larger than most of the ships Carnival uses on short cruises, and these 5-night cruises are more like half-steps budget-wise, which can help with young families or for coaxing those who missed out on all the fun the first time to join you next time.
However, never forget this is your vacation, so pick one you can get excited about.
To paraphrase Wayne Dyer, "Where would you go if you only had six months to live?"
If you can comfortably afford it, why not?
