We all create our futures based on what we imagine them to be.

Or, as my dad used to say, be careful what you think about, because you'll probably get it.

Creating the reality of the vision is similar to painting a picture.

What would make up your ideal African Adventure masterpiece?

The other day, I turned on "Congo," a blockbuster movie based on the exciting Michael Crichton novel.  While I enjoyed the movie, I wouldn't personally seek that kind of crazy adventure confronting every conceivable mode of death.

But we all enjoy a tinge of danger, don't we?

Going with a cruise or packaged tour gives us the assurances we need to charge forward from the comfortable confines of home where we could just watch an adventure movie from an easy chair.

Julie and I checked Africa off our bucket list by visiting Egypt a couple of years ago.

That was an amazing trip through history fueled by pyramid power...and a fantastic cruise tour.

We're still watching documentaries about fascinating archaeological expeditions in Egypt, often commenting, "We were right there."

A few months ago, we went to South Africa.  We preceded a fantastic safari with a sensational stay in Cape Town.  Sunning on a gorgeous beach, visiting a penguin colony (yes, S.A. is close to Antarctica), touring Stellenbosch and other wine regions and much more would have made for a fantastic vacation even without the safari.

We returned home once again wanting to explore more of this amazing world.

At church, a friend opened up about his recent trip to Tanzania.  His safari brought him deeper into the animal kingdom wilds than ours in South Africa.  He also visited with locals living in a primitive village.

Another safari, perhaps in Tanzania, Kenya or Chobe National Park in Botswana sounds enticing to Julie and me.  Maybe in a couple of years.

What will your African Adventure masterpiece include?

I'm happy to help you fill your canvas with the most memorable features imaginable.
