If you've been following my blogs about Travel Secrets of the Seven Dwarfs, then you know we have reached the seventh dwarf, Doc, the unofficial leader of the dwarfs.

When I was a boy, I acted like I was Doc after school and on breaks for summer or holidays.  I would phone my friends to get enough players for a pick-up game of football or baseball at our nearby grass field.

If I hadn't stepped up, perhaps someone else would have, or maybe enough people would have spontaneously showed up for a game, but I guess I will never know.

In any case, I think it is time for me to be your Doc or I might say, at the risk of a bad pun, your Cruise Doc.

By that, I don't mean that I will boss you around like a crew's leader but instead help you wisely utilize time to "play" in places you've dreamt of going.

Sometimes we all need someone to encourage us to move in the right direction.

At work, we get assignments from bosses or requests from customers that have specifically implied or logical actions required, but when we're off, it is easy to get sidetracked by apps and programs that lead nowhere.

Obviously, travel is not the only worthwhile leisure activity, but at least once a year, we should all "get away from it all."

We return from great vacations with new perspectives that make our normal workday realities more enjoyable, and that makes us better people.

So let me invite you to experience two amazing travel "playgrounds" that Julie and I have cruised recently in our post-Covid burst of travel and plan to return: Iceland and Western Europe or Spain and the Mediterranean.  Both of the linked itineraries (which are not identical to the ones we took) happen to be aboard Caribbean Princess.  It is not the newest ship but will get you there comfortably at very reasonable pricing.  As Princess and other cruise lines evolve, they retrofit ships to include popular new features, and Caribbean Princess is no exception.

Add Princess Plus to and the beverage package, wifi and free pre-paid gratuities, plus some other goodies, for a modest markup ($60 per person per day), and you'll feel like a millionaire on board.

Of course, you may not feel like either of those trips are the right "games" for you.  I'm happy to recommend other vacations, if you let me know what you want.

Then again, just like when I was a kid, I am inviting you to games that I love and which I think you would enjoy.

"Better service leads to better trips!"
