I didn't recently return from the new Sky Princess.

In fact, I don't expect to be cruising on her soon, not because I wouldn't like to cruise on Sky Princess, but primarily because she doesn't happen to sync with my current plans.

If she comes to the West Coast, then we're talking a different story.

Julie and I instead recently returned from a cruise on Star Princess, an older but newly-refreshed ship that embarked a short taxi ride away from our home.

In any case, I like this new "ecard" picture and decided to use it for this 21st Century message in a bottle.

And make no mistake; I definitely understand the premise of wanting to take a cruise on a particular ship design.

Some of you love the latest and greatest, the larger the better, while others want that smaller ship intimacy and anticipatory service of more upscale lines.

Sky Princess is undoubtedly a dandy.

Princess likes to say their new ship designs are inevitably more an evolution than a revolution, with new features adding to what past guests love about earlier versions.  When a new ship feature proves popular, cruise lines introduce those improvements during refurbishments of their other ships.

While much travel talk focuses on destination, there's also great pleasure in cruising just for the sake of cruising.

So, what will you be writing about in your next post card?

The beauty of nature?

The grandeur of history?

The rejuvenation of a spa?

Or the amazing ship and the wonderful, like-minded souls you found on board?

"Better service leads to better trips!"
