We Salute Our Military Members, Past and Present
Published Wednesday, November 11th 2020 - Updated Wednesday, November 11th 2020If you've served in our nation's military, you truly understand the proud tradition of defending not only our nation but whatever is right throughout the world.
No other nation in history has so selflessly sacrificed courageous young soldiers to protect Western Civilization.
We pray our leaders will always be wise in knowing when to deploy our brave military to fight in foreign lands.
Just four years ago, ISIS had been a merciless cancer, capturing territory in the Middle East and inspiring ruthless terrorist attacks throughout the world. By February of 2017, a new strategy cut loose our overseas forces along with their allies to not only reverse their spread but decimate ISIS so thoroughly that it is never mentioned and possibly not remembered by many.
Today, thank God our military is not entangled in any hot wars anywhere in the world, and because of the strong deterrance spearheaded by the courage and capabilities of our meritorious military, we have not been goaded into a new military confrontation in over four years. This is a marked policy change from our post-World War II heritage of "policing actions" which had no clear resolution.
None of that would have been possible without our troops.
And for those who found themselves in combat, whether in the air, on the high seas, on the ground or behind a desk executing high tech missiles and drones, we salute you.
All of these young men and women must make literal life and death decisions at an age when many young people are confused about what their major should be or which coffee order says the most about who they wish to be seen to be.
We also salute all those whose tireless works behind the scenes in support of frontline fighters. I am proud to have served among these good men and women during my four years of public service in the United States Air Force.
As we begin a very holy time of year throughout the world, let us pray for world peace that keeps our military members safe in a world where the only borders we need to defend are our own.
Peace through strength.
