Three Major Ship Redeployments Mean Huge Vacation Opportunities for You!
Published Saturday, February 19th 2022 - Updated Saturday, February 19th 2022People often ask me when there are deals on cruises, to which I say any time, if you're flexible. Occasionally, however, major ship deployments create unique opportunities for a whole batch of cruises.
Three of the best cruise lines announced big moves on the travel chess board, and you can choose the one that works best for your next vacation right now!
Following popular demand for cruises closer to home, Celebrity Cruises will move Infinity to freedom-loving Florida for a summer season alternating Western and Eastern Caribbean 7-night itineraries from Ft. Lauderdale all summer long.
Parrot Heads and Hemmingway fans will love the first port visited: Key West! Both eastern and western itineraries will also call on Bimini, the chic island getaway that Richard Branson selected to be the key to its 4- and 5-night Virgin Voyages for adults who can only take a limited amount of time away from the office.
The Western Caribbean itinerary on Celebrity Infinity adds exotic Belize and perennial favorite Cozumel, both destinations with strong appeal to reef divers. For the Eastern Caribbean, Infinity visits exciting Grand Turk and kicked-back Puerta Plata.
On the West Coast, Princess will bring Sapphire Princess to home port in Los Angeles for the summer. She will include several alternative Mexican Riviera cruises. Julie and I just returned from the Mexican Riviera on Majestic Princess, and we enjoyed a truly wonderful vacation! This summer, the only constant on the Riviera will be popular Cabo San Lucas.
For summer, the cooler temperatures of Ensenada, where you can visit some wonderful wineries in the foothills, won a spot on the itinerary rather than Mazatlan. Some itineraries will replace Puerto Vallarta with La Paz, giving regulars on the Riviera the opportunity to visit a new port. While not exactly summer, on September 24, Sapphire Princess will cruise to La Paz, Loreto and an overnight in Cabo on a 10-night voyage.
The most exciting announcement, however, brings 16-night Hawaii cruises roundtrip Los Angeles that visit the four major islands of Hawaii, plus Ensenada, for the first time ever during prime weeks of summer. Think rolling "seven-eleven." Your opportunities for this amazing summer cruise are July 7 and August 11. Don't miss taking one of these cruises. The 15-night version is a favorite Julie and I will never tire of, because Hawaii is an amazing destination and Princess makes the whole cruise special.
In addition, a modified 7-night Coastal Cruise will do an overnight in San Francisco, plus San Diego and Ensenada, on July 23 and August 27, 2022. Shorter 5-night voyage embarking July 2 and August 6, 2022, takes you to Ensenada and an overnight stay in the City by the Bay where Tony Bennett left his heart, San Francisco.
But that's not all for residents of California and neighboring states. Disney Wonder will now cruise from San Diego on 4-and 5-night cruises from Fall of 2022 through Winter of 2023. While never a line for bargain-hunters, Disney's unique onboard experience lures families and adult Disney fans. Cruising from California means skipping flights for tens of millions of potential passengers.
So, which will you choose? Even if you have another vacation already booked, take advantage of one of these wonderful opportunities to cruise close to home.
