You don't have to go on vacation to enjoy the world around you.

Nothing stops you from turning off your TV and walking at the beach, mountains, village streets, riversides, art museums or parks.

You could read about the history of your home town or some distant land to learn more about the world.

Going to a nearby restaurant and striking up a conversation with strangers certainly is within the realm of possibility, as is going out to a concert.  Yes, those options might force you to dig into your wallet, and admittedly it is much easier when the venue is a short walk away on a cruise ship.

The only thing is, you might just find it easier to simply plop down on the couch to watch four hours of TV after work followed by marathon weekends of sports games you care little about, home remodeling shows to fill patches of time and soap operas that never end.

Sometimes, we all need a nudge to get our of our rut.

This is it.

Take a cruise or go on a guided tour to someplace you've always dreamt about going.

Just starting the plan will get your juices going.

Taking the trip will reset what's important, including getting out of your cell phone world and into reality.

Then when you return, you will find you have a renewed appreciation of the real world around you.

But that vacation buzz won't last forever, so immediately began planning that booster dose.

A great way to do that is to book your next cruise while on board your next cruise, making sure you indicate that I'm your travel agent.

After all, it might not be essential for you to book through me to enjoy your life, but I promise to nudge you along to keep you on track to your best choices.
