Say Hola to a Free Mexico Resort Stay

 Okay, nothing is ever as free as the ads say. 

There's a resort fee of $75, plus taxes of up to $9 per day. 

You have to pay a security deposit of $500, so you can't party like Joe Walsh singing, "Life's been good to me so far." 

This is NOT all-inclusive, so you'll also pay for your meals and bar tab. 

And, of course, you have to pay for your transportation to get to the eligible Vidanta Hotel Resort of your choosing. 

Other than that, however, use an American Express Green, Gold, Platinum, Centurion or Blue Card for your deposit or final payment, and you will receive a voucher for a hotel room for up to four guests that must be used within a year for a beautiful resort in Puerto Vallarta, Riviera Maya, Acapulco, Nuevo Vallarta or Puerto Penasco, if you tell me you want it.  

Would it be better to just take another cruise? 

Probably, but then you won't be able to tell your facebook friends you went to Mexico for free courtesy of your American Express Card.

Oh, and if you don't have an American Express Card, then this could be a good time to get one!

P.S. Unfortunately, this applies only to deposits and final payments made with qualifying American Express Cards between now and October 31, 2019, so if you made final payment previously with an American Express Card on a 7-night or longer cruise, this doesn't count for you this time.  

However, you can always book another 7-night or longer cruise!
