You don't have to travel as far as the Galapagos to appreciate nature.

Any time you take a cruise vacation, you're surrounded by an amazing marine world.

From close to home ports, you visit many great destinations to see animals in the wild or beautiful coral gardens filled with tropical fish below the surface.

On a recent cruise aboard Star Princess, Naturalist Mark Harris surprisingly stated Ensenada was one of his favorite ports, because of all the whales, sharks and seals easily seen cruising into port or on a boat trip from the port.  And here you thought it was just Papas y Beer!

If you don't have enough incentive to click, please note there's a great Popular Science video narrated by my youngest child, Amy, as well as some great old hippie music.  And the first photo in the blog is me on a small boat exploring Ensenada's harbor.

Oh, and if you want to go to the Galapagos, Celebrity Xpeditions can definitely take you there to explore one of the most unique ecosystems on earth.
