Pining For the Fjords?
Published Thursday, January 7th 2021 - Updated Thursday, January 7th 2021I've lost track of how many cruises I've booked for Julie and me that have been cancelled due to Covid-19 restrictions, but fortunately, our travel funds have been preserved, because cruise lines forced to cancel have refunded our payments.
It has made the credit card statement a little confusing, but we refuse to give up planning a future dream trip.
We have not needed to use our Allianz Insurance, which I've moved to apply toward our upcoming trip that costs more than the trips cruise lines cancelled.
More than ever, we realize how precious each vacation day is, so why scrimp? Who knows when some new crisis will pause world travel again?
NCL's Air Promotion priced roundtrip air from Newark at only $599 for me...and Julie FLIES FREE as my companion! While the cruise may cost more than the cruises not taken, I think we increased value considerably with this air deal. Other lines including Celebrity and Viking have similar air specials offered during Wave Season, which is happening right now!
We have a truly spectacular cruise deposited for Summer of 2021, and for some reason, a plan seems more real once money is plunked down on the booking, even when the deposit is fully refundable until final payment.
We're already dreaming about flying into London to embark on Norwegian Star to cruise to Scotland for two ports, Norway for three ports and then Iceland for three ports, with the grand finale an overnight in exciting Reykjavik.
Just having this fantastic vacation on our calendar makes us happier. In any case, it gives Julie and I brighter topics of conversation to share.
Perhaps you've experienced the same feeling of exhileration every time you've booked a cruise.
You immediately start learning about the ports you'll visit, maybe read historical novels set there. Travel becomes real in your mind long before you step aboard the ship.
What do you have booked to make you excited?
Let's get a dream trip for you, too.
Wes
