Perhaps like me you've found travel to be very much like visiting the Fountain of Youth.

After sipping the healing potions of a great cruise, I return home revitalized.

A couple of noteworthy new elixers have been recently revealed for our youth-seeking pleasure.

On the big ship side, Norwegian Cruise Lines released for sale its newest and greatest ship, Prima.  It's NCL's first new class of ship in ten years.

Prima won't be the biggest ship on the Seven Seas, but she will feature considerably more space per guest.

Prima will have her coming out party in Summer of 2022, governments willing and temperatures don't rise, with cruises in Northern Europe, including through Norway, so obviously appropriate for the cruise line's name.

In the fall of 2022, she will migrate from London with an epic trans-Atlantic voyage to  spend winter in the the warmer climate of the Caribbean.

One new Prima Class ship per year will arrive until a total of six are cruising.

NCL continues the pursuit of upscale Suite guests who appreciate their luxurious ship-within-a-ship Haven accompanied by the opportunity to go out on the town in the "Big City" entertainment choices of a mega-ship.

Something you may note in Prima's design may be seen as a nod to Viking Ocean's ships that compete more directly with NCL's upscale brands Oceania or Regent Seven Seas.

Viking Ocean ships carry only 930 pampered guests.  Their voyages feature everything you would find on a Viking River Cruise, including a guided tour in every port and beer and wine with lunch and dinner as standard offerings.  Viking introduced two outstanding new itineraries for Summer of 2021.

Both of these new Viking itineraries cruise roundtrip from fascinating Malta, a gorgeous island with a strategic stop for Crusaders and many other world powers, creating a fascinating tapestry of history and a unique culture.   Malta has been near the top of my personal bucket list for years.  Now I just need to justify the splurge of an upscale trip.

One of the Viking cruises visits the Greek Isles, joining other lines already lured to the Siren's call of Greece, the earliest European country to warmly welcome cruisers back.  It would definitely be an amazing voyage.

For something completely different, consider their Malta & Adriatic Jewels itinerary, which will take you to several less-visited ports in Croatia.

How can treat yourself to you choice of Fountain of Youth cures?

First, you will need to get another potion, a Covid-19 vaccine, which both lines require for boarding.
