We're a long way from summer, and to repeat what I wrote a couple of weeks back, baby it's cold outside.

Yes, it is the perfect time to grab a last minute deal to a warm-water, sunny-beach escape from winter, but it is also the right time to plan your summer vacation.

Alaska will again be in high demand.

For families with young children, that means reserve now if you need triple or quad rooms.  Adjoining staterooms will already be hard to come by, but it is very possible to get some side-by-side rooms for your family.

Some lines sell out faster than others.  Royal Caribbean continues to lead the pack for family cruise demand.

Another area where booking early can pay off is for a cruise tour, where you delve past Anchorage to Denali, Fairbanks or the Yukon, depending on the cruise tour you choose.

You can wait until we get closer to summer, but don't expect to be able to get the exact cruise tour you want if you wait.  Flexibility will rule the day, as it always does for "last-minute" travel.

You might want to consider booking you 2026 cruise tour now.

If you want to cruise Alaska in 2025, procrastinating might find you missing the boat altogether.

Remember, an Alaska cruise reservation makes a great Christmas present that you can buy now and pay off later.

Then again, all cruises and packages land tours make wonderful Christmas presents for your family.

Where will you go in 2025 and 2026?

Wes
