My Website Specials
Published Friday, June 22nd 2012 - Updated Friday, June 22nd 2012Every day, I see specials available. If you happen to call about a sailing similar to the specials I find, then I will suggest them, saving you money with alternatives you had never considered.
That's just another reason for booking with me.
When you see the "Deals" on the front page of my web site, keep in mind that they are a fraction of what is available.
When I am lazy, Cruise Planners American Express puts their national promotions on the front page of my "carousel" of deals. They are somewhat awkward, in that sometimes they put a deal price that is higher than the lowest lead rate on an interior room, and then fail to say that the "deal" price is for a balcony that would otherwise cost more. They'll say something like "$75 Onboard Credit," but otherwise not even indicate why you would want $75 onboard credit when apparently you would have to pay more for the cruise. There's nothing I can do about how these "deals" are listed.
I try to put about three specials of my own choosing on the carousel, so they are the ones you see when you come to my site. These frequently look much more enticing. On the down side, these are only available for SELECT SAILINGS, and even then, you have to book within a specific time frame. Flash promotions for the Mediterranean this summer are particularly enticing, with prices lower than I have ever seen on the best selection of cruises ever in the region. However, listing one after another would do no good. Keep in mind that if you want a Mediterranean cruise this summer or fall, there is probably a deal available.
And for those not interested in the Med, keep in mind that cruise specials materialize based on supply and demand. Just because a glut of ships in the Med this summer makes prices lower there, as the cruise lines scramble to fill ships, it doesn't mean that a cruise in the Caribbean or land vacation in Hawaii will necessarily also cost less. Sometimes, it means that the cruise lines failed to factor in how many people would choose the destination they either ignored or concentrated upon.
Most of the lowest prices will be for cruises leaving in 3 to 6 weeks, and frequently air costs are higher at that time. These deals come about as a result of excess inventory, and the only reason deals are offered earlier than the "last minute" is because a ship is not booking along what the line considers to be an acceptable pace. Cruise ships usually sail full or very close to full, and just because there are discounts near the end, if you are extremely flexible, doesn't mean that the exact vacation you want will be on sale, especially if you need to book a few months in advance to get time off work and arrange your calendar, as is the case for most of us.
Rather than driving yourself crazy reading every ad you can find, just contact me at 310-546-9618, or at Wes@CruisePlanners1.com. I'll tell you the best available deals on the horizon.
If you want to book online, don't go somewhere else. Most cruises can be booked on my web site, and based on the data you input, my booking engine will select the best deal currently available. You can then deposit your cruise online at www.CruisePlanners1.com and still have me available to answer any questions that come up.
Now sometimes, as in the case of Celebrity Exciting Deals, there may be specials on the horizon which will not show up in the booking engine until the exact day they are available, which is usually Tuesday in the case of Celebrity. If you want to know what is coming up for a last minute deal, contact me, and I'll be happy to share.
