Make 2024 the Happiest of New Years!
Published Saturday, December 30th 2023 - Updated Saturday, December 30th 2023What does the New Year hold in store for you?
We cannot control everything, but certainly we can direct our intentions. One of the best ways to begin 2024 is to block out your calendar for all of your can't-miss events.
Daughter's graduation? Check.
Semi-annual dental exams? Check. Check.
Wedding anniversary? Check.
Winter, spring and summer breaks from school? Lines ending in checks.
Valentine's Day? Check.
Dog grooming with Fido's favorite groomer? Check. Check. Check. Check....
If you have not set aside a week or more for at least one cruise or leisure vacation, you need to get on that right now, because life has a tendency to fill your calendar spaces if you don't intentionally fill them with your plans.
You can double up on some of those checks.
For example, an anniversary or Valentine's cruise with your spouse is a wonderful way to celebrate your life choice, and it makes the perfect gift to show how much you care.
Booking a cruise for a time when school is on an extended recess makes it less stressful, if you're traveling with school-aged kids or if you're a teacher. Or, if you're ready for an extended date-night cruise when the grandparents can babysit without needing to heed school schedules.
Step one to the best new year ever, block out some space on that calendar for your vacations.
Step two, consider where you want to go on your next great vacation. If you have a very specific place in mind, you might want to take a land tour or an all-inclusive resort stay. If you have a general region in mind and want a taste of several cities, a cruise would be perfect.
Step three, send me an email to see what's available at the time you want to go in the region you want to visit. Obviously, be honest with yourself about where you want to go before starting your plans. You don't want to be like the man who got to the top of the ladder only to find it had been leaning against the wrong building. If you don't like sandy beaches, don't ask me to help you book a trip to the Bahamas.
Once you've got that vacation slotted on your calendar, when you're asked if you can move that doggie spa visit to a different day, you can look at your calendar and say, "Sorry...not sorry...I'll be on a cruise that week. Would another week work for you?"
Make 2024 the Happiest of New Years for you and your loved ones.
Life is where dreams come true.
