It's Not Too Late to Cruise Alaska This Summer!

Yesterday, my friend Sam said he could cook a steak without a barbecue in Yuma, Arizona. 

Would like to escape hot, smoggy days on congested city streets? 

Cruise Alaska! 

Consider a last-minute deal on Princess or Holland America, which each have seven ships in the great north.  Those large deployments could mean amazing deals for the handful of rooms left, especially aboard one-way trips between Vancouver and Anchorage.  Open-jaw air may not be as pricey as you expect. 

Don't expect those extra perks that you get for booking early, and selection is limited, but the price could make up the difference. 

Space on ultra-premium lines like Crystal and Regent Seven Seas is...well...at a premium.  If there happens to be a Suite or two left on one of these small ships, you may be pleasantly surprised.  Then again, you know a Rolex will never be priced like a Seiko, even if they both give you the same time of day. 

And just to be clear, not all ships have availability, especially if you need more than double occupancy.  Gigantic Royal Caribbean ships sold out early for several prime dates.
