After cocooning for two years, it's natural to be hesitant about traveling again.

The first step back could be a cruise from close to home, with close being a relative term based on how close you live to a cruise port.

Some can easily drive within three hours, but in any case, you're likely within a 3-hour flight of at least one cruise port.  You can get to the other side of the country in less than twice that long.

Lots of cruises start from Florida, and right now there are quite a few from California, as well as some sprinkled in places like New York/Newark, Baltimore, New Orleans and Galveston.

Perhaps because Southern Californians in particular have been conditioned by government to stay home, there are stupid-cheap last-minute deals from Los Angeles right now, including balconies on Majestic Princess for 7-nights Mexican Riviera.

International travel remains a dream for most people, but it has become a more elusive dream.

Prospective travelers seem to be talking themselves out of international travel in the short run primarily out of fear for protocols and potential snags like being quarantined in a foreign port.

That's what "Cruise with Confidence" combined with travel insurance are designed to subvert.

For brave souls ready to plan an international cruise for spring or summer, a world of opportunity awaits.

An example?

Book Viking River Cruise's Grand European Tour embarking between April and June of 2022, and you will enjoy reduced fares, FREE Silver Spirits Beverage Package (expanding the usual delicious local wines and beers with lunch and dinner to an open bar all the time aboard your river cruise ship) and up to FREE International Airfare from select air gateways.  Don't delay.  You must book by January 31 for this deal.

Too soon?

For 2023-4, Celebrity Cruises will be expanding their offerings in exotic Asia.

Of course, time passes so quickly that by the time I write this, specific deals mentioned are almost obsolete, but the truths of what your heart yearns for will provide the answer when the time is right for you.

P.S. If you wonder why I skipped past hotel stays, take a good look at the cost of an independent hotel stay once you add in meals and entertainment, and you'll marvel at the inherent value of cruising.
