Most cruisers have taken Carnival at least once, because Carnival has more cruises departing close to home than anyone.

Almost their entire fleet is dedicated year-round to home ports in the good old USA.  That includes Caribbean cruises departing about every deep-water port between Galveston, Texas, to New York, New York, with Mexican Riviera and occasionally Hawaii cruises from Long Beach or San Diego.  A few Panama Canal cruises bridge the coastal gap, and of course Carnival has a ship in Alaska every summer.

If you haven't been on a Carnival ship lately, however, you could be in for a surprise, especially on their newest ships like Horizon.

Older Carnival ships were built before the era when Princess spearheaded a movement to make balcony rooms --- filling the sizable gap between standard ocean view and suites --- the favorite category in cruising.  At this point, in fact, Princess now skips standard ocean view rooms entirely on its newest ships, and Carnival new ships include lots of balconies in their designs.

You expect great family activities and entertainment, but did you know there are now Cloud 9 Verandas with special Spa access geared toward more sophisticated tastes on many Carnival ships, including Horizon?

Among the great itineraries available with Carnival, Horizon will take incredible 8-night Southern Caribbean cruises departing conveniently from Miami to visit my personal favorite port, Curacao, perennial favorite Aruba, rising-star Grand Turk and exotic La Romana.  Alternating this itinerary with a 6-night Western Caribbean cruise to Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel means you can leverage your airfare into a diverse two-week cruise!

If you haven't been on Carnival lately, perhaps its time for you to grab some fun.
