At this time of year, lots of messengers arrive on your screen to promote roses, chocolates, lingerie, cards and other gifts for your Valentine's Day shopping pleasure.

I'm just one more Cupid with an arrow to share.

While other gifts may gain favor for a moment or an evening, if you give your lover a cruise, you will both enjoy weeks anticipating your trip, the wonders of the voyage itself and then a lifetime of pleasant memories.

Any extended date-night cruise will be appreciated by both you and your mate, but you can choose to make it even better by consciously being your most romantic ideal-self for the entire trip.

As a TV fan, I channel a bit of Johnathan Hart from the old Sidney Sheldon series, "Hart to Hart," but go with what works for you.  Maybe you're already more romantic than anyone you can imagine, in which case just let it all hang out.

With the right attitude, every destination is romantic.  The Mexican Riviera where Julie and I cruised to celebrate our 36th Anniversary was, after all, the setting for most episodes of "The Love Boat."

Sapphire Princess will be repositioned to Los Angeles from Australia for Summer of 2022, giving you more opportunities to cruise year-round along the West Coast and to Hawaii on your personal Love Boat adventure.

Sunny locales like the Caribbean, Hawaiian Islands and South Pacific are perfect for romance.

And of course, you can choose to live the movie-magic of the romantic Mediterranean, whether in Venice, the Cote d'Azur or the Greek Isles.

Choose one cruise for this year and take that simple, risk-free leap of faith with a refundable deposit.  That way, just in case your lover has strong ideas about an alternative destination, you can prove your commitment to your relationship by adapting.  Win-win.  You will be able to choose another dream trip for your next anniversary and then Valentine's Day.  Taking these romantic trips once or twice a year will result in a lifetime love.
